Challenge

Ameren Missouri's goal is to reduce the energy usage of its customers by encouraging them to replace their outdated home equipment with energy-efficient models. The program’s largest source of energy savings comes from the sale and installation of smart thermostats. The challenge was to educate customers about the benefits of smart thermostats and encourage their participation in the Peak Time Savings Program to help reduce energy consumption.


Solution

Our team created cross-promotional messaging that was strategically placed along each step of the customer journey, including the homepage, category page, the product page and the order confirmation email.

The thermostats’ products pages featured large text and high-quality images to increase visual appeal and help tell the product’s “story.” Easy-to-access tabs were also added to display installation instructions and program details.
